Legalize Marijuana in the Pacific please.

Marijuana is not only associated with mental illness but it may also be the next diabetic drug according to the new research findings that was published in the American Journal of Medicine. So let us not worry about the sugar level we take in our coffee or the pork from the lovo we stuffed down our throats because we may have a simple cure for it all; Marijuana. Oh wait but yes that is right . Marijuana is illegal here in the Pacific. Yet if we all work together to convince leaders that this might be the way for us, it might just work. We would not have to spend so much money on expensive drugs to treat our diabetes patients or family members that have diabetes.

Sure we have all the heard that marijuana may result in memory loss and learning being affected right after consumption, but if you really think about it, many artists over the years had used marijuana as a tool to get their creative juices flowing.

George Calvin, Shakespear, Louis Armstrong, Jack Nicolson were just some of the artists that professed a positive influence from the use of marijuana.

In the Rolling Stone Magazine, Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys said that it was this herb that helped him "write pet sounds" which was ranked as the second greatest album of all time according to the magazine.

Even comedians like Geroge Calvin said that pot had changed his way of thinking and it was attributed to this herb that he became more successful, to the point of attaining four gold albums in a row.

People say that it is a health risk to the lungs. If you think about it, smoking cigarettes is the same, yet many still do it. Passive smoking is also harmful. So why not legalize marijuana since there are actually positive side effects to it when compared to a normal cigarette. Why not legalize it for the sake that it may be more beneficial than normal cigarette.

In Amsterdam, while it is not legal, there are no strong laws to uphold the smoking of weed. People sell it openly in shops and it is even smoke it in public.

If the use of marijuana could be legalized in the Pacific, at least that way it could be regulated. Some states in the US have legalized it, others have not.

Since the chemicals in the weed can change the moods, it can also be effectively used to control seizures and pain, according to research from the Queen Mary University.

Some doctors think that it could also be used to lessen the pain for illnesses.  Most prescription for illness such as cancer or aids, are harsh drugs that may cause pain, nausea, and vomiting. A few doctors say that it is bad to consume marijuana because there is a lack of consistent research in this area. Others say that marijuana would be a good and effective tool to control the vomiting and nausea from the medicine prescribed and that is a marvel. It would be really sad to watch a person be sick and be even more sick from the medicine they took.
Many doctors say that it may damage your lungs, heart, brain and immune system., yet it may be capable of relieving stress, i.e distress a great number of very ill people. If you are going to be stressed out a lot, you may not be able to work or study well. However if you were to distress, then you might actually get some work done and actually get it right.

Marijuana has many uses and some claim that it is a bad drug. Let us think of the AIDS patients that feel bad every day from the sickness and the medicine they take every day. They vomit and they feel nauseated all time and every second of the day. Don’t you think they would have a right to feel good for just about a day before they take the plunge.
Think of the people with diabetes. I for one did not get to know my grandfather from when I was a kid. He had died of diabetes. First they took off his two toes. Then it became his whole leg. Afterwards they had to move on to the other leg and start cutting it off bit by bit. Shortly afterwards, he had passed away. This is no way for a man to die. Unfortunately this is the case for most people here in the Pacific.
In the Pacific Islands, it is the diabetes and N.C.D s that are the leading causes of death here in the Pacific. They have so many workshops about it, but we islanders love our lovo, our pork, our fatty foods and our coconut milk.
Why can’t we make it easier by legalizing marijuana for the Pacific people? Recent research has shown that this herb may have certain compounds that would help control blood sugar and much more. It also showed that marijuana users had higher levels of high-density lipoprotein which can protect people against heart diseases.
Why is it illegal in the first place? Was this because of something in the past that was not thoroughly researched at one time and because of the ignorance back then it has rippled through time till date? I realize that most Pacific Islands are Christian states. However I do not remember marijuana being illegal in the Bible. If anything what I remember was that God took Adam out and said he could eat from anything he saw in the Garden of Eden, except that of the tree of good and evil which I always assumed was an apple tree. It was only men that made it illegal. It was men that created laws to make it illegal and make it seem a sin to smoke weed. Do we really want to see our people suffer because of the ignorance in the past that still affects us today? Think about it. Do you want to pay so much money for treatment and medicine so that a leg does not get cut off, or will a small puff do it for you?Every believer believes that God made everything for a reason. What if just what if marijuana has a good reason for existence as well but somehow along the way we have lost it and made it seem a wrong thing to make use of one of these great creations.
